Lance Tuller
I build and operate network infrastructure at scale — managing data centers, backbone systems, and cloud connectivity — and the production platforms that monitor it all. 12+ years bridging hardware, routing protocols, and full-stack development from message queues to REST APIs.
Best fit for environments where reliability matters, complexity is the norm, and you need someone who can architect the solution, implement it in production, and build the platforms to keep it running.
Things I've Worked On
Infrastructure & Systems Engineering
Building and operating large-scale network infrastructure across global data centers, with a focus on reliability, security, and operational simplicity.
- •Led backbone network migrations from legacy platforms to Juniper infrastructure across global data centers and edge POPs, coordinating BGP and MPLS routing transitions while maintaining operational continuity
- •Designed and deployed hybrid SATCOM connectivity using LEO and GEO satellite services for distributed operations, implementing redundant paths and automated failover with BGP policy and health monitoring
- •Directed network integration during enterprise acquisition, transitioning global infrastructure and replacing legacy firewall platforms with Palo Alto across data centers
- •Built secure internal tooling including OIDC/PKCE authentication library (latch) with Azure Government cloud support, encrypted cookies, and automatic token refresh
- •Architected multi-tenant telemetry platform collecting and analyzing real-time network performance data from distributed systems, processing 2,000+ metrics/hour through message queue pipeline with time-series storage, REST APIs, and modern dashboard interface

Current Focus
Exploring LLMs and local model deployment, open source AI tooling, and practical applications for infrastructure automation. Interested in the intersection of traditional ops work and emerging AI capabilities.
Projects
Modern OIDC authentication library for Next.js with Azure Government cloud support. Implements secure authentication patterns including PKCE, refresh tokens, and encrypted cookies. Built with TypeScript and designed for enterprise environments requiring high security standards.
